Bolognese judicial documentation, source for the study of the Spanish university presence in Italy, 1281-1328
Keywords:

Spanish students in Bologna during the Middle Ages have been studied from various points of view according to their crucial contribution to the dissemination of Roman Law. An almost ignored source is the criminal procedural documentation of the Bolognese archives, which allows us to know aspects of their training in Italy and their collective position. Perfectly individualised as a "national" community between the 13th and 14th centuries: without distinction of kingdoms of origin, the Spanish jurists returned not only with renewed knowledge, but also with a group consciousness based on common experiences.
