The article deals with the defensor civitatis in the Lex Romana Burgundionum, an old institution of Germanic origin that particularly developed in the Post-classical Roman law. This institution regulated two specific issues, namely, the registration of donations and the restitutiones in integrum for those who were not 25 years of age yet.
