Abstract

Since Republican times, the construction of buildings throughout the litus maris are quiet common. According to Roman legal sources, the construction becomes property of who builds it, although once destroyed the ground on which it is based, it is not property of the builder. The nature of the construction - small slums or houses -, as well as the fact that the shore is within the things that are freely available to all men, what makes it possible to acquire the property of what is constructed, but not of the ground.
