Abstract

The paper departs from the scarce regulation that the Fueros de Valencia (Valencian compilation of laws) devoted to the locatio conductio contract. Similarly to their laws, the Valencian lawyers did not pay much attention to this contractual modality. Therefore, and as a result of the ius commune reception, their norms and commentaries were completed by the judicial and notarial practice, by means of which the Roman origin lease was adapted to the medieval and early modern-age society.
