The infamous penalties in the Castilian legal sources at the end of the Ancien Régime: nature and concept
Keywords:
Infamous penalties. Crown of Castile. Ancien Régime. Castilian normative bodies. Castilian legal literatureAbstract
The category of the infamous penalties existed in both the French codified law and the French law of the final stages of the Ancien Régime. The absence of historiographical studies about this matter in the Spanish law justifies that the present work deals with both the nature of such penalties and its notion in the sources of the final stages of the Castilian Ancien Régime.
